The Lethbridge Football team have done it again!
On Thursday 10th June, Lethbridge played against Bridlewood Primary School, in a much anticipated and rained off game. It was a very tough game, against a very strong team. The first goal was scored by Nate after about 10 minutes. Lethbridge pushed hard and attempted several more goals, but Bridlewood had a very strong goalkeeper and the attempts were stopped every time. With just one minute to go until halftime, Bridlewood scored a goal, bringing the match to a draw.
In the second half, they played for a long time where both teams tried hard to score and both defended well. Then, suddenly, Joe scored for Lethbridge and this was followed shortly after by a second goal from Bridlewood. Both teams kept going despite the heat and exhaustion. It looked as though it would be a draw. Then, a third goal, by Joe, was scored for Lethbridge. With just one minute to go until the final whistle, Max B scored again for Lethbridge giving us a secure win. What a great team!
Final Score: Bridlewood 2 and Lethbridge 4
The whole squad worked hard and helped each other through a very tough game. Well done to all involved.
We now go through to Round 3, where Lethbridge will play St. Mary's RC Primary.
